Going Green
Here at Flowers Going Green, we are passionate about doing our bit for the environment.
That is why we still buy most of our flowers and foliage locally. We get some from as close as Cotehele, in Cornwall. Some of our foliage is even grown here in Horrabridge! All our flowers, wherever possible, go out wrapped in colourful tissue paper and brown paper and finished with a raffia bow (all of which are bio-degradable). Unfortunately, sometimes because of the weather here on Dartmoor, we are forced to use cellophane occasionally, but when we do, we use it scarcely.
We love to recycle wherever possible. We even compost all our green waste so that we can use it to replant our flowers that we sell in the shop. We also can offer designs for occasions, which are 100% biodegradable, including funeral designs that are made on straw bases, handmade on the premises.
Last but not least, we try to be green with our deliveries too. We have to use a four by four to deliver our flowers to the most remote places, in all weather conditions, but wherever possible, we walk deliveries.
